I’M CHANGING WHAT’S POSSIBLE BY…

Feeling empowered to try new things and gain new skills.

RON EVERETT

SVP, Direct to Consumer Operations

CHARLOTTE, NC

Hi, my name is Ron Everett and I am the Senior Vice President in the Direct to Consumer Operations group, and I am based out of Charlotte, North Carolina.

I started my career at Synchrony 13 years ago as a Frontline Manager, managing 25 customer service hourly employees. I thought that was the full breadth of what I was going to be doing with my career, but I took advantage of the many different opportunities that were offered to me, which led me to my current role.

When I started here, I already had my undergraduate degree but Synchrony’s tuition reimbursement benefit of $20,000 per year allowed me to go back to school and attain my MBA. That really changed my life—not just the financial assistance but the sincere way all of my colleagues, mentors, and managers supported me.

At Synchrony, you’re supported both professionally and personally. I’m so grateful for the long-lasting relationships that I’ve built with my colleagues and to be a part of an organization that encourages you to do so. We have a variety of learning and development opportunities; and embrace diversity in so many different ways. From our diverse leadership team to our diversity networks, we find ways to leverage our strengths and create a culture that benefits our employees, our customers, and our partners.

Throughout my time at Synchrony, I’ve been actively engaged in our diversity networks and have taken various roles working in different parts of our business, including client development, sales, as well as operations. What I like most about working here is that Synchrony is really good at giving people exposure and opportunities to get out there and take risks to grow their careers.

I tell people that I took my first flight while working at Synchrony. I had never even been in an airport prior to that. Working here has allowed me to travel and live in different places, try new things, and gain new skills at every step of my career journey.
