A Bit About Me:
I am the second of three girls born and raised in St. Louis, MO by a single mother who greatly influenced my personal and professional success. As a teen, participating in diversity programs contributed to my development by exposing me to corporate culture and connecting me with influential people that I could identify with. Because of these programs, I strive to empower others and help remove barriers to forward advancement. My personal mission is to help provide resources to individuals and institutions in underserved communities. During my career at Synchrony, leaders have provided mentorship and shown so much grace as I work towards achieving my ambitions. As a result, I make it a priority to ensure others feel supported and connected.
Critical Experiences:
Supporting the PayPal conversion and transitioning to AAN+ Operating Leader in tandem are two critical experiences that have significantly impacted my career and overall development. Over the past year, I have experienced a professional breakthrough by no longer allowing the fear of failure to drive my decisions and how I navigate in the business. As a result, I no longer rely solely on external validation or ask permission before making reasonable decisions. Lastly, both opportunities have provided me with unique experiences in people leadership, influencing in a matrix environment, strategy development, and executive and senior leadership team interaction.
Career Development:
Relocating to different cities, working in the Marketing Solutions Center of Excellence and now in a client facing role has helped me develop a unique style that allows me this take a balanced approached. The intersection of these experiences is what I find most valuable to my career development. I’ve learned the importance of being malleable, continuously improving on navigating change management, and organically connecting with people from all walks of life.
Role/Function:
My role is unique because it’s very entrepreneurial. The scope of my role is a great collage of addressing client needs and alleviating pain points, doing what the business needs, creating opportunities to gain critical experiences to support my career aspirations. I like the consultative nature of my role and touching all areas of the business. It helps me remain clear on the holistic picture while diving deep in areas that are critical to our success.
Synchrony Value:
Passionate – I have to do things I love and align to its purpose.
